When it comes to distilling what’s good for you and what isn’t, there are things that always make the “eat more of this” list. Fruits and vegetables, for example, are generally thought of as good for you, all the time—low in calories, lots of fiber, vitamins and minerals. But is the truth that crystal clear? A lot of people say no, especially if they’re following something like the Paleo diet. They argue that our ancestors didn’t eat a lot of fruit, and neither should we.

However, dietary experts differ with this opinion. In fact, they would say that cutting anything natural completely out of your diet is wrong, and that balance is what’s most important. The difference in sugars is important to consider, too.
