This is a good tip if you aren’t super into fruits and veggies, but know you should add them into your diet. It’s so easy to get almost a day’s worth of fruits and vegetables just in a smoothie or freshly-squeezed juice. It will be sweet, full of vitamins and minerals, and is a great meal or snack on-the-go. But you also don’t want to rely on just smoothies. Whilst it’s great to add them to your diet, they shouldn’t be your only source of fruits and veggies.

Vegetable Replacements

Another easy way to get more vegetables into your diet is by replacing other ingredients or carbohydrates. For example, instead of a standard pizza crust, you can try one that is made with cauliflower or almond flour. Maybe you love your rice or potatoes. Try switching to cauliflower rice, or use half potato and half cauliflower. There are many vegetable-based pastas now as well.

New Ways to Flavor Your Foods

Why not switch up the flavor profiles of your dishes and use fruits or veggies in unconventional ways? Maybe other people enjoy foods this way, but if it’s new for you, it can be a fun and adventurous experience. Maybe you’re not very inclined to grab an apple as a snack, but would enjoy apple slices in your salad or on your sandwich. Some people don’t like just a side of steamed veggies, but would enjoy chopped up broccoli and carrots in their salads.

Think of other ways to add flavor and interest to your meals by adding different fruits and vegetables to meals you already enjoy.

Hiding Veggies in Your Kids’ Favorite Meals

Yes, kids love to complain about eating their vegetables. But you can get them all the vitamins and minerals they need without all the whining. There are many ways to sneak in vegetables to foods kids love, such as diced peppers and other veggies in their chili or soup, making a pasta sauce with blended veggies, or adding some broccoli to their mac and cheese.
