Good Healthy Hygiene

As simple as it may sound, hand washing is really still one of the best ways to prevent illness. Make it a habit, a good habit, to begin washing your hands after every visit to the store. While it may be commonplace to want to start putting those groceries away and get on to cooking or other chores around the house, the best practice is to come home and immediately wash your hands. Those supermarket carts are full of germs waiting to spread.

If you can, pack some towelettes in your purse or in your car. The simple act of washing up your hands a bit before you touch your nose or mouth or worse yet, your food, is a great way to ward off germs and viruses.

Proper Rest

We all live in a society where multi-tasking isn’t only a way of life, it’s expected. Without proper rest, however, your body doesn’t have the opportunity to regenerate itself. If your cells aren’t refreshed, then your body won’t be able to fight when an enemy attacks the immune system.

Proper rest is essential to optimal health.

Stay Hydrated

We all hear about the benefits of staying hydrated and drinking water. Most of us probably even say that we will do it tomorrow, but tomorrow comes and we forget, once again, to stay hydrated. If you don’t like water, try adding lemon or lime or try any of the many iced teas, lemonades, or low-calorie drink mixes. As long as you’re drinking, you are staying hydrated. In addition, don’t forget that fruits hydrate and refresh your skin, too.
