5 Tips To Help You Really Lose Weight

Keep Moving

Try to fit as much physical movement as possible into your day. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Stand instead of sitting and if possible, walk instead of standing. Pacing can be very helpful. Fidgeting has been shown to help with weight loss, as well. Jiggle your foot, tap your toes and drum your fingers. It may not seem like much, but it adds up quickly! You can jump-start the process by buying a step counter or pedometer. These inexpensive devices will start tracking your steps automatically. The goal for a healthy person is 10,000 steps per day and you can begin to ramp up the amount of walking you do.

Pay Attention To What You Eat

How many times have you sat in front of the television and just nibbled on snacks without even realizing how much you’re actually eating? In order to lose weight, it’s important that you don’t eat with the TV on. Pay attention to your food, the taste and smells, and you won’t end up eating so many calories during the day.

A great weight loss tip is to remember that little things add up. Eating some fruit throughout the day, or grabbing a quick walk whenever you have some time to spare may not seem like a lot. But these healthy lifestyle changes will eventually add up and translate to greater weight loss.

Use Smaller Plates

People who are trying to lose weight are always disappointed in the small amounts they get to eat at each meal. Make your plate look fuller to fool your stomach. Try eating from a smaller plate, load it up with lots of salad and veggies, and even try eating with a small fork to make meals last longer.

If you want to leave some of your food behind to avoid eating too much, you’re giving yourself too much food. Only serve yourself what you should be eating, and measure it when serving to ensure you’re really taking as little as you think you are. Save the rest for tomorrow!

Don’t Give Up Every Treat

Treating yourself can actually be an important part of any weight loss diet. Making hard and fast rules about food, such as telling yourself that you’ll never eat chocolate cake ever again, can actually make you obsess about food. This leads to stress and overeating, both of which can ruin your weight loss plan. Try to give yourself a small treat every day, or a slightly larger one at the end of the week for making your goals.

Staying Motivated

It can be a challenge to stay motivated while losing weight. Take a picture of yourself when you were happiest with your weight and hang it on the refrigerator. Imagine yourself looking and feeling that way again! You’ll be more likely to keep the refrigerator door closed! Take pictures of yourself in order to lose more weight. There are not many tips or tricks that are more effective than using a camera to record your weight loss. Take pictures of yourself once a week and compare them. You’ll easily be able to see the results of your hard work.
